Comparison between FC-1 and competing aircraft

Abstract

At present, the international competitors of FC-1 mainly include the F-16, the MIG-29, the Mirage-2000  and the JAS39. This report compares and analyzes the flight performance, radar and weapon systems, avionics, cost, combat capability and effectiveness of these aircraft in order to identify the FC-1's strengths and weaknesses. The main conclusions of this report are as follows: The FC-1 is generally at a disadvantage in flight performance, but the disadvantage is not obvious. The poor high-altitude and high-speed performance is a big disadvantage of the FC-1. The maximum flight speed of the FC-1 is far behind that of the competitors, and its ceiling is also low. Maneuverability is comparable to the Mirage2000-5 and JAS39, and has a certain gap with the F-16C and MIG-29M. Takeoff and landing performance is comparable to Mirage2000-5, better than F-16C, but worse than JAS39 and MIG-29M. The combat radius and transition range of the FC-1 is average.
