The rapid growth of technology has had a tremendous impact on many parts of life, including medicine. One of its most significant advancements is the Internet of Things (IoT), which allows electrical gadgets to connect more efficiently. In the realm of health, IoT has enabled smart solutions such as intravenous (IV) therapy monitoring systems for elderly patients receiving outpatient care. Elderly patients sometimes require intravenous therapy, which necessitates careful monitoring. However, physical and cognitive limitations make it difficult for individuals to operate intravenous devices on their own. As a result, an IoT-based intravenous monitoring system has been developed to make it easier for the elderly to monitor their intravenous at home. This technology monitors intravenous volume in real time and sends alarms in the event of fluid delivery issues or failures. This technology is projected to improve the quality of life for older people by providing a sense of security and reducing the need for frequent hospital visits.
