Abstract

Due to personal struggles, social pressures, and academic stress, student mental health has emerged as a crucial
worldwide concern. Many kids are underserved because traditional mental health care frequently falls short of the
rising demand. Chatbots driven by artificial intelligence (AI) have become a creative, scalable, and affordable way to
close this gap. This review examines the characteristics, efficacy, and difficulties of AI chatbots in addressing mental
health issues among students by synthesising results from current studies. These systems enhance accessibility to
mental health resources, reduce stigma, and offer round-the-clock assistance. But there are still concerns about their
long-term effectiveness, moral ramifications, and compatibility with conventional care. This study emphasises the
revolutionary role of AI-powered chatbots in promoting student well-being by looking at their uses and possibilities.
