Reusability of the Potassium Iodide Solution for O3 Determination Without Degradation

Abstract

This study investigates the reusability of potassium iodide (KI) solution for ozone (O3) concentration measurement. The experiments demonstrated that the same KI solution could be reused for up to 34 cycles without significant changes in O3 concentration results. Two different ozone dosages were tested over 17 cycles of 60 minutes each, showing consistent O3 measurements. The findings indicate that KI can be used for extended periods without affecting the results, contributing to reducing environmental impact by reusing chemical reagents in multiple experiments.
