Mobile phones are an integral part of our daily life, however, their portability and connectivity make them vulnerable to cybercriminals as prime targets. This paper examines malware, phishing, network-based threats, and data leakage as the main focus of the security issues faced by mobile devices. Current defensive solutions such as multi-layered security protocols, mobile device management, and advanced authentication methods are also evaluated. In addition to this, research and industry insights, as well as emerging trends like artificial intelligence for threat detection and the challenges of 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) integration will be evaluated. The findings emphasise that organisations, and app developers need to collaborate to enhance mobile security.
