This introductory text aims to make knowledge about ionizing radiation and its applications in medical radiodiagnosis accessible to a broader audience, with a special focus on radiological protection. Intended primarily for radiodiagnostic technicians in Nicaragua, the book presents the fundamental principles of radiation physics and basic protection measures in a clear and concise manner. While it is not designed as a formal academic course, it serves as a supportive resource to reinforce prior knowledge and provide a pedagogical foundation for further learning. Given that much of the technical personnel in this field have acquired their skills empirically through practice, this work seeks to fill a gap in introductory educational materials, contributing to improved understanding and practice of radiological protection.
