Abstract

This internship report presents a comprehensive technical documentation of my practical training experience at the Shaggar One General Hospital Project, executed under Gutema Firisa Construction PLC in joint venture with MCG Construction PLC, and supervised by the Engineering Corporation of Oromia (ECO). The project, located in Oromia, Ethiopia, encompasses complex multidisciplinary engineering works, including structural, water resource, and infrastructure components.

Throughout the internship, I was actively involved in site supervision, material management, structural inspection, and documentation of various construction phases, ranging from substructure works (excavation, foundation, backfilling, waterproofing) to superstructure elements, reinforcement detailing, drainage, and road construction. The report integrates both civil and water resources engineering perspectives, emphasizing the application of theoretical knowledge in real project conditions.

Supported by national standards such as EBCS,CES, ERA, and international frameworks like FIDIC, ISO 9001:2015, and AASHTO, this report highlights engineering accuracy, safety compliance, and quality assurance practices. It also includes site-specific observations, technical analysis, and lessons learned, reflecting my academic and professional growth as a dual major student in Civil and Water Resources Engineering.
