Browser fingerprinting uses information exposed by a browser and its host system to identify or track users, often without relying on traditional cookies. As fingerprinting methods have become more resilient to individual countermeasures, evaluating the effects of multiple, layered obfuscation techniques has become increasingly important.
FingerprintObfuscation is a Python package designed to support controlled testing of browser fingerprinting systems. It integrates fingerprint obfuscation with Python-based browser automation and allows users to select and combine interference techniques targeting audio, battery, canvas, clientRects, fonts, navigator properties, screen properties, webGL, and webRTC. The package currently supports Firefox and is intended for authorised research, privacy testing, and evaluation of fingerprinting resilience.
