Abstract

This study compares real-world highway fuel economy across six vehicle platforms under standardized operating conditions to examine the effects of vehicle architecture, gearing, transmission behavior, and selected modifications on cruise efficiency. Testing was conducted on a flat out-and-back route using an 80-100 km/h duty cycle, ambient temperatures of 29-31°C, air conditioning set to 20°C, and a tank-to-tank fuel measurement method with three runs per vehicle.
