Quantum Dots Additized Lubricating Oils: A Review

Abstract

In this review, the studies pertaining to the quantum dots dispersed lubricating oils is systematically reviewed. Various aspects such as synthesis of the QDs additive, their dispersion method and stability, dispersion stability enhancement methods, and their tribological performance is presented. It is found that, such additized oils result in friction and wear reduction for steel tribopair by about 37.07 ± 17.25 % and 58.91 ± 23.77 % respectively.
